The gospel has been lost, the church feels irrelevant, and the Reformation never really took root. So what fills the void? The State steps in and says, ‘I’ll be your daddy.’ The result? Crushing taxes — 40, 50, 60% of your income — a socialist-style government that keeps people from being fruitful, from having families, and even from supporting pastors. People delay having kids until it’s too late. Congregations can’t fund ministry. The cultural mandate gets crushed. On one side, you have a Roman Catholic system leading people astray. On the other hand, a tyrannical state fills the vacuum. Both are oppressing the very things God calls us to: multiplication, dominion, and the advance of the gospel.
